Born To Be Wild è una canzone interpretata dalla band rock canadese Steppenwolf. E’ stata incisa nel 1967 con l’album omonimo Steppenwolf ed è considerata la canzone capostipite dell’heavy metal, sia per la musica sia per i riferimenti del testo. Lo stesso testo esalta il “rider”, il motociclista che fa tuonare la propria moto di metallo pesante, proprio come nel film Easy Rider (1969) di cui il brano costituisce il fulcro della colonna sonora.
E’ menzionata anche tra le più belle canzoni hard rock di sempre da VH1 e tra le 500 migliori in assoluto da Rolling Stone.
