Composta da Noel Gallagher, The Hindu Times è la prima canzone rilasciata come singolo dall’album degli Oasis Heathen Chemistry, nel 2002. Il testo, anch’esso scritto dallo stesso Noel, riflette le tematiche degli anni d’esordio del gruppo (vedi Rock’n Roll Star) e non ha niente a che vedere col titolo scelto per esso, ispiratogli semplicemente da una scritta su una t-shirt.
Fu un enorme successo di pubblico e critica, riportando in auge il gruppo inglese dopo 6-7 anni dopo i fasti di (What’s The Story) Morning Glory?, e primeggiò sia nelle classifiche del Regno Unito che in quelle italiane.
