I Can see For Miles è considerato un caposaldo della musica rock, scritto da Pete Townshend ed inciso con l’album degli Who, The Who Sell Out, nel 1967. Registrato per metà a Londra e per metà a New York, fu l’unico singolo estratto dall’album ed è rimasto il maggior successo del gruppo negli Usa, giungendo al nono posto in classifica e al decimo nel Regno Unito. Nonostante questo potrebbe essere considerato un successo, lo stesso Townshend è rimasto amareggiato per lungo tempo, in quanto considerava I Can See For Miles il brano definitivo degli Who.
