What A Wonderful World è un famosissimo brano scritto nel 1968 dal produttore Bob Thiele e dal compositore George David Weiss (entrambi americani) ed inciso da Louis Armstrong. E’ entrato nella Grammy Hall Of Fame nel 1999.
Curiosamente non fu apprezzato dai produttori, e non venne minimamente promosso negli Stati Uniti vendendo inizialmente a malapena mille copie; d’altro canto però era entrato nella classifica inglese, e la scalò fino a giungere in prima posizione e divenendo il brano più venduto dell’anno nel Regno Unito.
Impossibile ad oggi calcolare il numero di cover ufficiali realizzatene, sia incise che eseguite dal vivo: tra le più note si segnala quella Eddy Arnold (sempre nel 1968), quella in duetto di Shane McGowan e Nick Cave (1992) e quella di Joey Ramone nel 2002.
