dire straits

Rilasciato nel 1978, Sultans Of Swing fu il primo singolo dei Dire Straits. Prima di allora, bastarono pochi passaggi in una radio londinese della versione demo per far si che i Dire Straits venissero messi sotto contratto dalla Phonogram, casa discografica britannica, e che l’anno successivo già il singolo ri-registrato fosse in commercio oltreoceano. L’album stesso, Dire Straits, fu un successo.
Da notare che la parte di chitarra ha fatto storia, e gli assoli vengono considerati tra i migliori della storia del rock.
