The Winner Takes It All è una ballad degli Abba, rilasciata nel 1980 come primo singolo da Souper Trouper. Il testo racconta il divorzio tra i due membri del gruppo Bjorn Ulvaeus e Agnetha Falkstog, avvenuto nel 1979, e curiosamente sarà seguita, l’anno successivo, dalla canzone “When All Is Said And Done” che rifletterà quello tra gli altri due componenti Benny Andersson e Anni-Frig Lyngstad.
E’ stata utilizzata nel musical ispirato al repertorio degli Abba, Mamma Mia!.

Dancing Queen è una delle canzoni più rappresentative del repertorio degli Abba: incisa nel 1975 con l’album Arrival e lanciata come singolo l’anno successivo, raggiunse il primo posto nelle classifiche di ben 13 paesi. L’unica eccezione tra i paesi occidentali fu proprio l’Italia, nella cui classifica Dancing Queen non riuscì mai ad andare oltre il 14esimo posto: gli Abba non riscossero mai nel nostro paese l’enorme successo che ottenevano nel resto del mondo.
Si stima che ad oggi Dancing Queen sia una delle canzoni più suonate in radio di sempre, e figura in importanti classifiche quali Le 500 migliori canzoni di sempre (Rolling Stone) e Le 100 migliori canzoni Dance nell’era del Rock ‘n Roll (VH1).

Mamma Mia è una canzone del terzo album degli Abba, pubblicato nel 1975 con l’omonimo titolo Abba. Curiosamente, all’epoca in cui uscì fu il singolo (di successo planetario) che riuscì a far retrocedere in seconda posizione nelle classifiche di mezzo mondo Bohemian Rhapsody dei Queen, canzone che anch’essa in lingua inglese contenente un refrain con le parole “Mamma mia”.
Oltre ad essere l’ispirazione di un musical di enrome successo, Mamma Mia conta anche un numero impressionante di cover realizzate da vari artisti, la cui maggioranza sono tribute band degli stessi Abba.
