One è uno dei brani più conosciuti degli U2, inciso nel 1991 col fortunato album Achtung Baby e da esso poi rilasciato come terzo singolo. E’ a dir poco un classico della musica pop, inclusa in tutte le più rilevanti classifiche musicali quali quella di Rolling Stone (che l’ha classificata 36esima tra le migliori canzoni di tutti i tempi) o quella di Q Magazine (che la classificata al primo posto); non solamente, anche il testo è stato eletto il migliore di tutti i tempi da un sondaggio del canale musicale americano VH1, nel 2006.

Sweetest Thing è un brano del 1987 degli U2, rilasciato in un primo tempo come B-Side del singolo Where The Streets Have No Name, ma successivamente reinciso e ripubblicato come singolo a parte nel 1998, in occasione dell’uscita della compilation The Best Of 1980-1990.
La canzone, come poi suggerisce lo stesso videoclip, è stata scritta da Bono per scusarsi con la moglie Ali Hewson, dato che durante il periodo di registrazione di The Joshua Tree aveva dimenticato di farle gli auguri per il suo compleanno. I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For è la seconda traccia del leggendario album degli U2 datato 1986, The Joshua Tree. Il singolo, rilasciato in seguito al successo planetario di With Or Without You, raggiunse la vetta delle classifiche americane ed il sesto posto di quelle inglesi. Nel 2004 è stata classificata 93esima da Rolling Stone tra le 500 canzoni più belle di tutti i tempi.

Get On Your Boots è il primo singolo dell’album No Line On The Horizon, rilasciato dagli U2 nel 2009. Lo stile della canzone è stato spesso definito come elettro-grunge, con un riff rock n’roll ed anche qualche ingrediente hip-hop. La “domenica di sangue” descritta da Bono nel testo di Sunday Bloody Sunday è il 30 gennaio 1972, giorno in cui l’esercito del Regno Unito sparava contro la folla durante una manifestazione a Derry, Irlanda. In quell’occasione persero la vita ben 14 civili disarmati, cosa che scatenò la rivolta dei nazionalisti contro la violenza del governo inglese.
Sunday Bloody Sunday venne scritta 10 anni dopo quei fatti e fu incisa con l’album War, del 1983. Oggi è bano immancabile a qualsiasi concerto degli U2.
