The Drugs Don’t Work è il secondo singolo estratto da Hurban Hymns (1997), il terzo album dei britannici The Verve. E’ una canzone molto confidenziale ed intima, scritta dal cantante Richard Ashcroft in seguito alla morte del padre e che riflette i gravi problemi di droga dell’autore stesso al tempo.
E’ stato il maggior successo del gruppo nel Regno Unito, e ne sono state realizzate cover da parte di Ben Harper e Skin.
