Over the Rainbow è un brano celebre tratto dal film "Il mago di Oz", capolavoro di Victor Fleming uscito nel 1939. Musica e testo portano la firma di Harold Arlen e E.Y. Harburg, diventando fin dagli anni Quaranta una vera e propria hit internazionale; la prima incisione è stata ad opera dell'attrice-cantante Frances Ethel Gumm, nota come Judy Garland, che è anche la protagonista del film. "Oltre l'arcobaleno", oltre che avere una melodia dalla forte intensità emotiva, è anche un invito a sognare una vita diversa e a giocare con la fantasia.
