Quarto lavoro in studio per il cantautore britannico, inizialmente rimane nell'ombra raggiungendo zone basse della classifica. SOlo col tempo la critica musicale ha considerato il disco come uno dei caposaldi della storia del rock. La canzone è composta a quattro mani, con la collaborazione del paroliere Bernie Taupin, uno dei grandi classici del repertorio di Elton.
