Intro: MI LA MI MI LA MI Oh, where have you been, my blue-eyed son? SI And where have you been, my darling young one? LA SI MI I've stumbled on the side of twelve misty mountains LA SI MI I've walked and I've crawled on six crooked highways LA SI MI I've stepped in the middle of seven sad forests LA SI MI I've been out in front of a dozen dead oceans LA I've been ten thousand miles SI MI in the mouth of a graveyard SI And it's a hard, it's a hard, MI LA it's a hard, and it's a hard MI SI MI LA MI It's a hard rain's a-gonna fall MI LA MI Oh, what did you see, my blue-eyed son? SI And what did you see, my darling young one? LA SI MI I saw a newborn baby with wild wolves all around it LA SI MI I saw a highway of diamonds with nobody on it LA SI MI I saw a black branch with blood that kept drippin' LA I saw a room full of men SI MI with their hammers a-bleedin' LA SI MI I saw a white ladder all covered with water LA I saw ten thousand talkers SI MI whose tongues were all broken LA I saw guns and sharp swords SI MI in the hands of young children SI And it's a hard, it's a hard, MI LA it's a hard, and it's a hard MI SI MI LA MI It's a hard rain's a-gonna fall MI LA MI And what did you hear, my blue-eyed son? SI And what did you hear, my darling young one? LA I heard the sound of a thunder, SI MI that roared out a warnin' LA I heard the roar of a wave SI MI that could drown the whole world LA I heard one hundred drummers SI MI whose hands were a-blazin' LA SI MI I heard ten thousand whisperin' and nobody listenin' LA I heard one person starve, SI MI I heard many people laughin' LA SI MI Heard the song of a poet who died in the gutter LA SI MI Heard the sound of a clown who cried in the alley SI And it's a hard, it's a hard, MI LA it's a hard, it's a hard MI SI MI LA MI It's a hard rain's a-gonna fall MI LA MI Oh, what did you meet, my blue-eyed son? SI Who did you meet, my darling young one? LA SI MI I met a young child beside a dead pony LA SI MI I met a white man who walked a black dog LA SI MI I met a young woman whose body was burning LA SI MI I met a young girl, she gave me a rainbow LA SI MI I met one man who was wounded in love LA SI MI I met another man who was wounded in hatred SI And it's a hard, it's a hard, MI LA it's a hard, it's a hard MI SI MI LA MI It's a hard rain's a-gonna fall MI LA MI And what'll you do now, my blue-eyed son? SI And what'll you do now, my darling young one? LA SI MI I'm a-goin' back out 'fore the rain starts a-fallin' LA SI MI I'll walk to the depths of the deepest dark forest LA Where the people are many SI MI and their hands are all empty LA Where the pellets of poison SI MI are flooding their waters LA Where the home in the valley SI MI meets the damp dirty prison LA SI MI And the executioner's face is always well hidden LA SI MI Where hunger is ugly, where souls are forgotten LA SI MI Where black is the color, where none is the number LA And I'll tell and speak it SI MI and think it and breathe it LA And reflect from the mountain SI MI so all souls can see it LA SI MI And I'll stand on the ocean until I start sinkin' LA SI MI But I'll know my song well before I start singin' SI And it's a hard, it's a hard, MI LA it's a hard, and it's a hard MI SI MI LA MI It's a hard rain's a-gonna fall

A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall: Video
