MIb7 LAb Well, I woke up Sunday morning REb MIb LAb With no way to hold my head that didn't hurt FAm And the beer I had for breakfast wasn't bad MIb7 So I had one more for dessert LAb LAb7 REb Then I fumbled in my closet through my clothes LAb FAm And found my cleanest dirty shirt REb MIb Then I washed my face and combed my hair SIbm MIb7 And stumbled down the stairs to meet the day LAb LAb7 I'd smoked my mind the night before REb MIb7 LAb With cigarettes and songs I'd been pickin' But I lit my first and watched a small kid FAm MIb7 Playing with a can that he was kicking LAb LAb7 Then I walked across the street REb And caught the Sunday smell LAb MIb/SOL FAm of someone's fryin' chicken REb MIb SIbm And Lord it took me back to something that I lost MIb7 LAb Somewhere, somehow along the way LAb REb On a Sunday morning sidewalk LAb I'm wishing, Lord, that I was stoned MIb7 'Cause there's something in a Sunday LAb That makes a body feel alone REb And there's nothin' short of dyin' LAb That's half as lonesome as the sound MIb7 Of the sleeping city sidewalks LAb And Sunday morning coming down LAb LAb7 In the park I saw a daddy REb MIb7 LAb With a laughin' little girl that he was swinging And I stopped beside a Sunday school FAm MIb7 And listened to the songs they were singing LAb LAb7 Then I headed down the street REb And somewhere far away, LAb MIb/SOL FAm a lonely bell was ringing REb MIb And it echoed through the canyons SIbm MIb7 LAb Like a disappearing dreams of yesterday REb On a Sunday morning sidewalk LAb I'm wishing, Lord, that I was stoned MIb7 'Cause there's something in a Sunday LAb That makes a body feel alone REb And there's nothin' short of dyin' LAb That's half as lonesome as the sound MIb7 Of the sleepin' city sidewalks LAb And Sunday morning coming down

Sunday Mornin’ Comin’ Down: Video

Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down è un brano interpretato e inciso da Johnny Cash, contenuto nell'album live The Johnny Cash Show pubblicato nel 1970.
