Molly Malone è un brano del repertorio tradizionale irlandese, tornato in auge grazie all'interpretazione dei Dubliners. Canzone che risale presumibilmente alla metà dell'Ottocento, è diventata nel corso dei decenni una specie di inno per la città di Dublino. Non abbiamo notizie sull'autore, ma sappiamo che è dedicata ad una giovane donna: una pescivendola proveniente dal villaggio di Howth, morta prematuramente per una grave febbre. Tutt'oggi a Dublino è presente la sua statua, che gli abitanti hanno ribattezzato "the tart with a cart"... ovvero "la sgualdrina con la carriola".
