I Hope That I Don’t Fall In Love With You è un brano composto da Tom Waits anni prima che venisse alla luce l’album che lo avrebbe reso celebre (e nel quale sarebbe stato inciso come seconda traccia). L’album era Closing Time e, nel 1973 divenne il suo primo lavoro studio. I Hope That I Don’t Fall In Love With You nella sua semplicità è uno dei pezzi più marcatamente folk dello stesso album.
