City of Stars è un brano tratto dal film musicale La La Land, scritto e diretto da Damien Chazelle nel 2016. La trama racconta un'intensa storia d'amore tra un'aspirante attrice ed un musicista jazz in cerca di successo, il tutto ambientato a Los Angeles che dal dopoguerra è città dal grande fermento musicale dove ogni cosa è possibile. La canzone porta le firme di Justin Hurwitz, Benj Pasek e Justin Paul, e nel 2017 si aggiudica il Premio Oscar alla miglior canzone oltre a un Golden Globe.
